Let's have fun, lets compete, lets play quick!

I am thrilled to be opening our 8th season in just a few days, but one of the bigger issues we run into not only in this league but in all leagues and in general the game of golf...is slow play. I have seen enough golfers play throughout my life to know that players who shoot an 81 can be painfully slow just as easily as someone who shoots a 120. For the most part, 92% of our players move quick and are ready to shoot when they are up...As we continue to grow though, pace will naturally become an issue. The hardest part of running this league is setting up the groupings and more than anything I wish I could just hit random groups and hit send but that is not the case as I have to balance ability, personality and pace. We have some players who get to the ball and swing, we have some others who are much more deliberate in their process and sometime do not start the process until it becomes their turn. If you feel you are a more deliberate player, it is more than okay and even encouraged to get to your ball and start your process while the others are hitting.

The last thing I would ever want to do is call out any individual on being a slow player but the league does know who tends to be more on the slower side. Most of all those guys are still amazing to play with, I just think we all wish they took 2-3 less practice swings or started the routine while others were taking their shots. Let's do our best this year to be cognizant of where we are in position relative to the other groups, I have seen times where groups fall almost 2 holes behind and that is unacceptable. I will not do what Brooks Koepka suggest and "stoke guys" but I do not want to make this an issue. There are times it becomes issues with the course though and if that does become the case those certain "methodical" players will be asked to pick up their pace and shorten their routine.

Let's all do our best to play golf whether well or poorly...let's just all do it quickly!
